I used to repossess cars. As an editor for In-Fisherman magazine, hearing, "You must have the best job in the world," was almost a daily event. But being a repo man ranked right up there in the excitement category. Being an editor, actually, was one of the most boring jobs I've ever held. Don't get me wrong—traveling and filming can be exciting. Or not. Fish are fish. When they won't bite, they won't bite. Might as well be in the office, chained to a desk. Which is most of what being an editor is all about.
I came into the business of writing through classrooms at the University of Michigan; as head editor for two collegiate literary magazines; as a newspaper reporter; as a freelance writer; as a book consultant; and finally as senior editor for In-Fisherman.
I came into the business of fishing on my belly, crawling through Michigan forests to find brook trout in little streams.
No telling where a tiny brook may lead you.
I hope to lead all who visit here to better fishing.
